  18. Autoconfig cards can have drivers on board, in fact, nearly all disk
  19. controllers do so, otherwise you couldn't boot from their disks. Other
  20. cards chose drivers on disk for more flexibility.

  22. Plug and play cards also need drivers that you have to install.

  24. Plug and play generally just means that you just put things where they
  25. belong and go ahead. No more configuring, no conflicts with other boards
  26. and everything works together.
